Revised Subscription and Pay-per-Use Pricing

We have revised our subscription and pay-per-use pricing to provide more flexible options. Frequent users of ZeeMaps will benefit from subscribing to one of our plans, while occasional users can take advantage of the Pay-per-Use options for one off purchases.
You can see the details on our Pricing page.

Subscription Plans

Basic: free plan with unlimited maps and unlimited markers. When the map is published or shared, it will display a small ZeeMaps branding logo and an advertisement. You can upload up to 500 entries at a time on each map as long as the total entries on the map does not exceed 500. Advertisements and branding can be removed from individual maps on a pay-per-use basis. You can buy additional upload credits. Map images in PNG or PDF formats are individually priced.

Professional: All of Basic features plus additional capabilities for advanced map editing and 2,500 Upload Credits. Images that would normally cost $5.00 are free.

Professional Publisher: All capabilities of Professional plan, plus no advertisements or ZeeMaps branding on published maps. Images that would normally cost $20.00 are free.

Enterprise: All of Professional Publisher plus add your own brand logo on the map pages and multi-map admin capabilities. For example, you can change the Admin password for all your maps together. Enterprise level subscribers get an additional 20,000 upload credits. Images that would normally cost $50.00 are free.

Map with Markers on the Same Location

Sometimes you may have a map with markers on the same location, e.g., different offices in the same building. When we plot the markers for such maps, the multiple markers stack on top of each other, so it is hard to understand that there are multiple markers in the same location.
We’ve introduced a new mechanism that will label multiple markers on the same location with English alphabets: A, B, C, etc. When you see marker with an alphabet letter on it, you’ll know that there are multiple markers in that location.
When you click on the topmost location, the markers will cycle through so that the next click will bring up the marker below.
For example, the following map has a couple of locations with multiple markers. You can click through them to see how the markers change.

The labels are added when you set the Settings -> Markers -> Label overlapping markers option in your map.
The labeling works only with the normal size Google Maps teardrop markers. If you have customized your map with special marker icons, or set the map to show small markers, the labeling won’t work in those cases.
This is also an easy way of determining if you’ve accidentally mapped the same location multiple times.
You can remove the labeling by dragging-and-dropping the topmost markers to tease them slightly apart.
Here’s a short video showing how to get the markers to rotate.

Geocoded Latitude, Longitude in exported map data CSV file

ZeeMaps supports exporting of map data of markers (pins) using the View -> Export CSV, or Map -> Save As CSV menu options.
We used to output the latitude, longitude of each location so that you can use that to re-upload your data, with possible changes, quickly. Starting today, we are no longer exporting the latitude, longitude data, to comply with some of our geocoding service providers requirements.
Instead of the latitude, longitude columns, you will see a “Location Code” column in the exported CSV file. If you want to re-upload this data to ZeeMaps at anytime, do not modify or remove data from this column. If you do not need to upload your data to ZeeMaps, you can safely remove this column from your spreadsheet.
When you upload data to a ZeeMap, rows that have a Location Code column, (or a combination of latitude, longitude), will not be counted towards your upload credits.

Upload spreadsheet to a map: New Video

We’ve recently released a 2-minute video demonstrating how to upload your spreadsheet data to a map on ZeeMaps.
The video creates a map of hotels and dining establishments in Austin, Texas. We create a new map, upload the spreadsheet to the map, adjust the column assignments and submit. Within a few minutes we have a map of over 150 locations! It also demonstrates how we can use a “Category” column to get different colored markers.
Check it out and let us know what you think.

Where did the Housing, Crime, and IP Maps go?

We are beginning to phase out specialized maps for Housing, IP, and Crime. You will notice that the “Create Map” dialog does not contain a “Map Type” option anymore, and you cannot create a Crime, Housing or IP map from the home page.
If you still need to create one of these types of maps, you can use the “Create Map” dialog in the “My Maps” page. Please note that we will be reducing support for these types of maps, so if you can, start using the “Regular” maps.
Let us know if this is a major inconvenience.
