This interactive map of LA, marking the boundaries of the LA-LA land, illustrates ZeeMaps capability to highlight cities in the United States.
The map was created in less than 2 seconds using the following steps:
- Create a New Map
- Use Additions -> Highlight Regions menu item to get a dialog for highlighting regions
- Select United States for the country, California for the State and Los Angeles for the city in the resulting dialog. Customize the boundary and fill colors.
If we want a static map of LA, instead of an interactive map, ZeeMaps makes it easy to get images of this map in PNG or PDF format. Use the Print or Share -> PNG/PDF Image menu item on your map to get an image in PNG or PDF format. You’ll need to play around with the image size and the map area to include in the image. Due to the necessity of preserving the aspect ratio, etc., the area that you select to render in the image may not be the exact image that you get.
For example, here’s an image in Satellite mode:
Similarly, we can get a regular map image:
Try out ZeeMaps for yourself. There are many interesting images that you can generate by highlighting places and regions on maps.

Map is inaccurate. San Fernando IS in L.A. County, but NOT in the city of Los Angeles.
“B+” for effort, “D” for execution. GYST
D. says:
Ah! The source of the confusion is HERE.
The top live map is correct and properly shows the CITY boundary, which does EXCLUDE unincorporated areas such as SM,BH, CC and San Fernando.
HOWEVER– The 2 lower STATIC photo/map are the COUNTY boundary, which INCLUDES the above mentioned unincorporated areas.
So – My new grade B+ for effort, F for execution and presentation.
Alex says:
This map is inaccurate, and includes smaller municipalities (West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Culver City, etc.) that are part of LA County, but not LA City. Please revise our remove.
Phillip says:
This map is inaccurate! Garbage. It was clearly made by someone who doesn’t know anything about Los Angeles or doesn’t care if they do a good job. Maybe both. But BOOOO to whoever made this. Your work is trash

You know this map wasn’t handdrawn by some person right? This is the city of Los Angeles’ official boundary.
Ken Castonguay says:
Beverly Hills is not in the City of Los Angeles
Anonymous says:
This is a map of the COUNTY of los angeles. not the city
Anonymous says:
Actually, this is a map of the City of Los Angeles. The County extends much farther.
Anonymous says:
No, it’s not the county. The city limits (outer boundaries) are correct. BH and WH are shown separate on the enlarged map.
Ed says:
West Hollywood is not part of the city of L.A.
