ZeeMaps will search based on the information you supplied and present you with choices for entries to add. How do I upload a spreadsheet of multiple locations to my map?
To upload a spreadsheet, go to Additions > Add (Upload) Multiple Markers on your map, and select the Upload Spreadsheet option. You will get a dialog to upload your spreadsheet.

To successfully upload data from a spreadsheet, it must have a header row that explains the data contained in each column. In addition, you must have at least two columns of data. One column should be for the name of each entry. We need this column for the title of the entry in the map marker. If you do not have names for entries, just number them.
Secondly, your spreadsheet should contain enough information about the location of entries so we can put them on a map. For example, at a minimum provide a postal code, and correctly identify your country while uploading the spreadsheet.
Spreadsheets can also contain street address, city, and state. The more information you provide the better we'll be able to position the markers.
You can provide latitude, longitude columns as well.
When you upload your spreadsheet, ZeeMaps uses the header row to determine how to use the data in each column. The standard columns names that ZeeMaps uses are as follows. As noted above, you do not need to provide all columns. Just enough information for ZeeMaps to locate your entries. For example, you can provide just Name, and Zipcode columns, or Name and city columns.
Street: street location, e.g, 1 Apple Loop
City: city, e.g, Cupertino
State: state, e.g, CA or California
Country: country, e.g, US, UK, USA
Zipcode: postal code, e.g., 95014 or
Name: title of the entry. If you do not provide a Name column, your entries will be called "Anonymous"
Category: grouping of your entry into different categories, e.g., Gold, Silver, Platinum. Each category will show as a different colored marker. ZeeMaps will also automatically create a legend based on the categories, in the order that they appeared in the spreadsheet. You can re-order them using the Map > Legend menu item. We support up to 31 categories. The category names can be your choice like "Restaurants", "Hotels", "Gold", "Silver", and so forth.
Latitude: in decimals
Longitude: in decimals
Photourl: if you want, you can specify a photo URL for each entry
PhotoWidth: width of the photo element for an entry in pixels
PhotoHeight: height in pixels
YouTube: specify a YouTube video ID for your entry
VideoWidth: width in pixles
VideoHeight: height in pixels

When you upload your spreadsheet, ZeeMaps will ask you to map the columns to one of the standard columns above. If your column does not belong to a standard column, such as a column called Revenue, then you can map that column to a "Custom Field".

How do I upload a Google Spreadsheet to my map?
To upload a Google spreadsheet, go to Additions > Add (Upload) Multiple Markers on your map, and select the Google Spreadsheets option. In the resulting dialog, click on the Fetch My Spreadsheets button to get a list of your current spreadsheets in Google.
You will have to grant ZeeMaps access to your spreadsheets. We ask for permission to access your spreadsheets now, and in the future, in case you want ZeeMaps to periodically update your map as the spreadsheet changes. You can revoke this right, at any time. Note that for the periodic updates to work, you must not change the header row of your spreadsheet.
Once you have selected the spreadsheet to use, ZeeMaps asks you to confirm the column headings to fields on the map. You can check the option to periodically update the map from the spreadsheet.
You will be notified by email when your data is uploaded. (Larger spreadsheets can take an hour or so.) See section on spreadsheet upload for more information on column mappings.

Make sure that the email address you registered with the map is valid and correct. Then, double-check your spreadsheet to be sure it contains the columns ZeeMaps needs to determine the locations of your entries. Also, make sure your spreadsheet file does not contain any errors, such as blank lines and unnecessary commas. If everything is okay, then please contact us and we'll be happy to help you resolve any issues.

Excel strips out leading zeros from my postal codes when I export a CSV. What do I do?
You can add double quotation marks around your postal code entries to prevent Excel from stripping leading zeros. Alternatively, manually edit the CSV file to add the leading zeros.

I forgot my ZeeMaps keys or passwords. What do I do?
If you forget your map's keys, please contact your map admin. If you are the map owner, sign in and go to Settings > Security. You can reset the map keys in the dialog. I have set up automatic updates from my Google Spreadsheet, but it doesn't seem to be updating?
This can happen due to a couple of reasons: (1) the header row in your Google spreadsheet changed since you set it up for automatic updates, or (2) we had trouble accessing your spreadsheet. If the spreadsheet headers have changed, you'll need to delete all markers from your map, and attach the spreadsheet again. If the headers haven't changed, try the Additions > Refresh Google Spreadsheet menu item, give it an hour or two, and check if your map has updated. If not, contact support.

I uploaded data through spreadsheet upload but some of my entries contain garbled characters?
Check your spreadsheet file's encoding. We try to support different encodings, but best is to use UTF-8. If you cannot a UTF-8 encoded file from Excel, try the solutions at: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4221176/excel-to-csv-with-utf8-encoding.

I set up "New Entries must be approved by Map Admins" but am not seeing any pending entries?
Only non-Admin added entries are marked for approval from map Admins. Make sure you have an Admin key set up for your map. If there is no Admin key set up, then everyone is coming in as Admin so there are no entries needing approval.
